The Warm Line is a peer run, telephone based, non-crisis, confidential, listening line for anyone struggling with mental health or substance abuse issues. The Warm Line is staffed by people who have been through a similar journey and are in recovery themselves.

Programs Offered: General Assistance is defined as county payment made on behalf of poor or needy persons for rent, utilities, food, medical services, burial and miscellaneous expenses.

Bremer County Veterans Affairs
Programs Offered: Veterans General Assistance

Eligibility: Must be a veteran or immediate family member (spouse, dependent adult or child) as defined by Chapter 35.1 of the Iowa Code and have a basic, emergency need that cannot be met by other means. Additionally, they must be a resident of Bremer County, meet certain income/asset guidelines, be registered with Iowa Workforce Development, and apply for all other assistance in the area.
Friends of the Family
Programs Offered: Rapid Rehousing, Permanent Supportive Housing, Coordinated Entry
Contact Information:Homeless individuals and families can reach out to us at the 1-800-410-7233 to discuss housing assistance needs. Programs range from 6 months to ongoing long term assistance. Program provides weekly case management, supportive services, and rental assistance.
